‘A great role model’ Peggy Thomas - 46, Fayetteville Her talent has been instrumental at helping kids struggling academically in her roles as a trained Fayette County Parent Liaison and as owner and director of our tutoring service. Her versatility was evident early in our marriage when our first child arrived weighing a whopping three pounds. She promptly left Sharp Electronics where she had won numerous awards as her division’s top salesperson, and quickly became an expert at managing Kevin’s medical and educational needs. Building on this expertise she was one of 35 candidates statewide last year to be selected to attend “Partners in Policy Making” whose charter is to learn about and locally apply the best practices nationwide for people with disabilities. In addition, she was recruited for and attended Fayette County’s training to become a mentor for the parents of children struggling in school. Finally, Peggy is a great role model for our kids. As a business owner, she has demonstrated the application of the golden rule, the value of hard work and doing what is right without regard to the bottom line. - Joe Thomas login to post comments |
