Jim and Michelle Maynard of Fayetteville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Alison Nicole Maynard, to George Perry Cunningham IV, son of Sue Ellen and George P. (Geep) Cunningham III of Toccoa.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Marvin and Edith Knowles of McDonough, the late Jean Maynard of Forest Park, and the late Paul James Nellipowitz of Silver Springs, Md. She is a 2005 University of Georgia graduate with a bachelor of science degree in family and consumer science development. She will graduate with a master’s degree in education in school counseling from the University of Georgia in May, 2007. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority while at UGA. She will begin working as a school counselor this fall at Winder-Barrow High School.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late George Perry and Elizabeth Cunningham Jr. of Cornelia, the late Gene and Jane Massey of LaGrange, and the late Jesse J. Pruett Jr. of Stone Mountain. He is a 2004 University of Georgia graduate with a bachelor of business administration degree in risk management and insurance. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity while at UGA where he served as president. He is a North Georgia business development associate with Staples Commercial and Contract Division.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on June 2, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, Athens. A reception will follow at Foundry Park Inn, Athens.
