By: The Citizen
Shoppers in Tyrone will have a new place to shop for basic consumable merchandise at everyday low prices when Dollar General opens its new store at 989 Senoia Road. The grand opening is scheduled to begin today at 9 a.m., and continue through tomorrow. The new 7,406-square-foot store employs approximately six to 10 people. Dollar General stores offer convenience and value to customers, by providing a focused selection of national brands and private brands of food, house wares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty care products. About a third of the merchandise in Dollar General is sold for just $1 or less. Dollar General gives its customers more than everyday low prices on basic merchandise they need every day. A longtime supporter of literacy, Dollar General takes a grassroots approach to supporting this cause. All Dollar General stores serve as a place where anyone can find out where to learn to read; where to take General Education Diploma classes and the GED test; or where to learn to speak and/or write English. In-store brochures feature a perforated reply card, pre-addressed and pre-stamped to ProLiteracy America. Upon receiving the cards, the organization distributes the referrals to the appropriate adult education office in each state, making sure the right service is provided for each person’s particular need. In 2004, the program served more than 8,700 people. login to post comments |
