Palmetto is looking for a big celebration at the May 19 Founder’s Day Festival. The day-long event kicks off at 10 a.m. with the parade on Main Street, followed by a flurry of activities at Veterans Park on Park Street.

Activities will include free face painting, arts and crafts, games for all ages, a DJ, giveaways by local businesses every 30 minutes and a contest for the best decorated booth. The day will have no shortage of food, with vendors on hand eager to fill every stomach with offerings such as barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn and funnel cakes.
