The East Coweta Indians (19-6, 10-2 region) have won the region 4-AAAAA title, having won five region games in a row and outscoring their opponents 53-9 in the span. The Indians and the Newnan Cougars could finish with the same region record but East Coweta has the Cougars beat in run differential in head to head match-ups.
The Indians are getting solid play from the entire team, but coach Franklin Deloach cited strong pitching from Rico Reid, Bryan Blough and Cam Bedrosian and added that Ben Inman, Recardo Billiups, Chris Ramos and Jeremy Capshaw are playing well.

East Coweta does not know who they will host when the state playoffs begin next week.
In region 2-AAAA, Northgate, Starr’s Mill and Woodward Academy all finished with the same region record (13-3) and all share the title of co-region champs, but the seeding has yet to be determined, because of conflicts with tiebreakers.

Starr’s Mill faced Whitewater on Wednesday and won 7-5 with Ryan Haynie picking up the win and senior Jeff Koziol driving in the winning run.

Northgate rallied from five runs beind in the bottom of the seventh to defeat McIntosh on Wednesday 14-13. The Chiefs were led by Eric Weiss who went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and three runs scored. Jarrod Parker drove in three runs and Jake Tanis hit a home run in the final game of the year for McIntosh.

In other local games, Fayette County lost to Creekside 15-5 and Sandy Creek cemented their hold on the fourth playoff spot out of 6-AAA with a 7-1 win over Cedartown.

In region 5-A, Landmark Christian grabbed a playoff spot by beating Whitefield Academy 7-3.
