A cyclist was seriously injured Tuesday when a vehicle turned in front of him on Flat Creek Road near St. Andrews Square, causing a collision, police said.

Steven McDonald of Peachtree City was riding his bike south on Flat Creek Road when the vehicle, heading north and driven by Bambi Emmett of Peachtree City, turned left in front of him, police said. That turn caused the collision to occur, police said.

McDonald, who was seriously injured, was flown by medical helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was initially reported to be in critical condition.

The Peachtree City Police Department’s Community Response Team is conducting a comprehensive reconstruction of the crash.
