VIDEO -McIntosh boys lacrosse team hangs on in close winTue, 05/01/2007 - 8:22pm

The first state playoff game of lacrosse at McIntosh High School was a doozy, but the Chiefs outlasted Darlington 12-10 and kept their record perfect at home.
The game featured a lot of action, including five lead changes and increasingly physical play down the stretch. Brothers Zach and D.J. Ward each had a hat trick in the win, while Brennan Ott and Garret Lee each scored two goals. David Bexley and Caleb Benson each scored one. After the game, McIntosh coach Mike Muetzel, recently voted Boys Lacrosse Coach of the Year, heaped praise on his whole team. "This is a young team, but they reacted well in the face of adversity," said Muetzel, "I'm really proud of the kids." McIntosh will host the winner of the Northview/Pope match on Friday. login to post comments |
