Two Fayette County residents, Alisha Thompson and Mandy Malinofsky, are participating in the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk in Atlanta. They have pledged to walk 60 miles over three days and raise at least $2,200 each to support the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation.

Thompson and Malinofsky are not only participating on the same team this year, but they are co-workers as well. Thompson is an Assistant Solicitor-General for Fayette County and Malinofsky is the office’s Control Terminal Officer.

On May 8 at 6 p.m., Thompson and Malinofsky are hosting a Breast Cancer Tea Party at Aunt Laura’s Sweets & Teas in Fayetteville. Each ticket will cost $40 and all proceeds will go towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation. There will be a light dinner, select pink teas, and dessert, as well as gift bags for each participant and a silent auction with day spa certificates, gym memberships, local artwork, and weekend getaways.

There are only 30 tickets available and they are going fast. To purchase a ticket, contact either Thompson (770-460-1558 or athompson@fayettecountyga.gov) or Malinofsky (678-592-3908 or mmalinofsky@fayettecountyga.gov). Dinner for this event has been donated by James K. Inagawa, Fayette County Solicitor General.
