Lucy Best, art teacher at Tyrone Elementary, was recently nominated to the Original Works Art Institute Fall 2006 Honor Roll. This is the second nomination for Best and the second consecutive year Tyrone Elementary’s art teacher has been named. This is quite an achievement for both due to the national scope of competition. Each year the Institute reviews hundreds of thousands of pieces of children’s artwork submitted through the Original Works Art Program. Based on this review, the Art Institute then selects the top 5 percent of schools nationwide to be included in the Honor Roll. Winners are named based on art design, consistency, creativity and overall art excellence across all grade levels. Photo/Special.
