Ron Clark visits Christian City's Home For Children

Educator Ron Clark, who is well known for his extraordinary success in recognizing the “untapped potential” of the disadvantaged children in rural North Carolina and in inner-city Harlem, recently toured Christian City's Home for Children.

Clark, who was chosen as Disney's American Teacher of the Year in 2000, is a New York Times Best Selling author for his book, “The Essential 55,” and is the subject of “The Ron Clark Story” movie starring Matthew Perry.

Clark shared his plans for the grand opening of his new school in Atlanta. The Ron Clark Academy, for students from low-wealth areas, will have a curriculum that is based on travel around the world and will be opening in June with 150 world leaders in attendance.

Christian City, located in Union City, has been serving abandoned and neglected children in a residential setting since 1965. Clark toured inside the existing cottages as well as the construction site for Christian City's new Children's Village which which is targeted to have up to 10 new cottages to better serve the children in their care.
