The Twilight Theatre will offer their first audition workshop, “How To Shine Brightly At Your Twilight Audition,” in preparation for upcoming auditions for “Les Miserables, the School Edition.”

The Twilight Theatre is offering workshops for youth and teens ages 10-19. The three hour long workshops will be held in Peachtree City and will be taught by Twilight Artistic Director Alison Chambers, who teaches voice and has an extensive background in music and theatre. For maximum benefit, workshops will be limited to 20 participants and divided by gender and age.

Chambers, who is also directing the show, will share audition advice that will be helpful for any audition. The workshop will include information on managing stage fright; remaining calm, collected, and confident; giving your best performance; maintaining flexibility; listening for what the director is looking for as well as vocal coaching and singing advice.

Students will be taught the background and story of “Les Miserables” and become familiar with the different roles available. Audition songs will be taught, and at the end of the workshop each person attending will have a mock audition, where she or he will choose one of the audition pieces to perform and will receive individual feedback from Chambers.

The cost for the workshop is $35 per person, and the registration fee includes all handouts. To register, e-mail Alison@TheTwilightTheatre.com.

Upcoming workshops will be held May 5, 7, 8, 11 and 12, contact Chambers for details.

Auditions for “Les Miserables, the School Edition,” are May 14 and 15 and will be held at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Callbacks will be May 17, at the same location. Shows will be performed at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater on July 6, 7, 13, and 14. For more information, visit www.TwilightTheatre.com.
