World Airways employees hold donation day for Christian CityTue, 05/01/2007 - 5:06pm
By: The Citizen
World Airways Employee Connection Team recently partnered with Christian City and held a donation day for Christian City's thrift store, Graceland. Proceeds generated from the thrift store go directly to help pay for the educational needs of the abandoned and neglected children who live in the cottages on Christian City's campus. World Airways employees brought gently used household goods, clothing and furniture from home filling two Christian City trucks. The goods were then taken to Graceland and sold to the community at reasonable prices. Located in Union City, Christian City has been serving less fortunate children in a residential setting on their 500 acre campus since 1965. With the community's support, over 1,000 children have received loving care and a safe place to call “home.” Graceland Thrift Store is open for shopping on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for donation drop offs.
