Fayette Master Gardener speaks to DAR

At a recent meeting of the Fayette-Starr's Mill Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, members were fortunate to hear a fellow member, Bonnie Helander, speak on Creating Garden Focal Points.

Charter member Helander has been an active Master Gardener of the Fayette County Extension Service since 2005. She is on the Master Gardener's Advisory Board, a member of the Garden Tour Committee, is chairman of the Communications Committee, and is president of the Peachtree City Garden Club.
The chapter met at the home of registrar Carol Abadie and co-hostesses were Sylvia Nolde and Elsie Wendland, with 26 members in attendance.

Wendy Fox, Chapter Outstanding Junior for 2006, was featured as the monthly chapter outstanding member. The chapter supports historical, educational, and patriotic endeavors. To join, one must document a lineage to a Revolutionary soldier or patriot. Members assist with the research. For information call Abadie at 770-632-9553.
