By: John Munford
The Peachtree City Council will hold a special called meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the possibility of contracting out maintenance services such as landscaping and mowing, according to information provided by the city Friday afternoon. Currently those services are handled by the city's public works department and its recreation department. Public Works maintains landscaping on city-owned areas including highway medians and other rights-of-way. The recreation department mows all the ballfields and other recreation areas with grass nearby ranging from parks to facilities like the Kedron Aquatic Center. Council will also discuss the Touch the World festival, which is being planned for the fall by a non-profit organization. The festival will feature food, activites and cultural presentations from various cultures. The meeting will be held at City Hall. login to post comments |
