When the owners of Jump 2 It, Peachtree City’s original, indoor, inflatable party facility found out that one of its employees, Courtney Smith, was a cancer survivor they realized that they had at their disposal the perfect means to raise money for the fight against cancer.

Supporting Relay For Life, they are playing off the traditional Walk For A Cure and are introducing the first ever Jump 2 A Cure, a chance for the community to come out and show their support for all of those who are battling cancer.

As one of Jump 2 It’s first employees, Smith, now 22 years old, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone forming cancer, at the age of 15. As the most frequent type of bone cancer, osteosarcoma is most common between the ages of 15 and 25. As with Smith’s cancer in her hand, over 90 percent of this type of cancer is located in the metaphysis, the growing ends of the bone, and is usually treated with chemotherapy, surgery, and radiotherapy. The five year survival rate for Smith’s type of cancer is 75 percent, and Jump 2 It is thankful that she was among the number of people who have successfully made it beyond that timeframe. They consider themselves lucky to have her among their staff, and wish the best for all of those fighting this terrible disease.

The Jump 2 A Cure event will take place on Monday, April 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. The entry fee will be $5, and snacks and drinks will also be sold. The night’s proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. For more information please visit www.jump2itptc.com/cure or call 770-486-9228. Jump 2 It is located at 320 Dividend Drive in Peachtree City.
