Whitewater baseball team edges Woodward 11-10, Starr's Mill bests Westlake 13-2Wed, 04/25/2007 - 8:42pm

The Whitewater Wildcats trailed Woodward Academy 10-5 going into the bottom of the sixth inning tonight before rallying with six runs for a region win that puts the Wildcats tied for second in the region with the War Eagles and Northgate. The sixth inning featured a grand slam from Miles Head and the second home run of the game for Heine Rivera. Colin Wooddy was the winning pitcher and Tom Bohrer picked up the save, while starting pitcher Justin Carpenter hit a home run early in the game. The Wildcats play at Creekside on Friday. Starr's Mill played at Westlake on Wednesday and won 13-2. The Panthers got a two run home run from Brian Fletcher, a three run shot from Drew Johnson, two RBI doubles from Ed Cook and RBI singles from Ken Jackson, Michael Jeanes and Trent Freeman. Will Mathis got the win. Starr's Mill will host Northgate on Monday at 5:30 p.m. login to post comments |
