PTC police offer ‘citizen’s academy’Mon, 04/23/2007 - 2:36pm

The Peachtree City Police Department is accepting applicants for its Citizen’s Police Academy course, which will begin Thursday, May 10. The 10-week course will offer information on law enforcement issues ranging from crime scene processing, juvenile operations, officer survival, traffic and DUI law, criminal investigations and a firearms simulation exercise. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the city, local business owner, graduate of the department’s CERT class or a city employee. All applicants will be subject to a criminal history and driver’s license check and must sign a hold harmless agreement to participate. The course is free but the class size is limited to the first 25 selected applicants. Applications may be downloaded at www.ptcpolice.org or picked up at the library, city hall or the police department. The application deadline is Saturday, May 5. login to post comments |
