The Northgate Vikings varsity baseball team has two losses marring their stellar record (19-2, 9-2) this season and both have come against the same team, Whitewater's Wildcats. Tonight, the Vikings lost 6-3.

When asked what Whitewater knew about Northgate that other teams had yet to figure out, Wildcat coach Frank Dixon stated that his team just played with more intensity tonight.

"We're a Jekyll and Hyde type team and I guess Mr. Hyde showed up tonight," he said, adding that the win was huge for his team.

Justin Carpenter pitched a complete game for the win and his defense played errorless ball behind him. Heine Rivera provided half of the offense with a three run home run and Ryan Johnson added a blast of his own.

Whitewater will face Fayette County on Monday and will take on Woodward Academy on Wednesday and Creekside on Friday.
