Fayette DAR wins state awards

Four members of the Fayette County DAR attended the 2007 State Conference in Savannah for three days at the Hilton Savanah DeSoto Hotel. The Fayette-Starr's Mill Chapter members heard state officer and state chairmen reports. Judy Hughes, state chairman of chapter revitalization, gave her year-end report. Some state awards received by the chapter included: State Honor Roll, 1st place Conservation Report, 1st place Commemorative Events Report, Outstanding Constitution Week Report, 1st & 2nd place for Fiber Arts-Cross-stitch entry, 3rd place Most New Junior Applications, Overall Most New Members by Application-chapter 26-50 members, 2nd place Greatest Percentage Increase-chapter 26-50 members, Meadow Garden Museum Patron,  Certificate of Award for Veteran Activities, Certificate of Appreciation for Entry of Outstanding Teacher of American History (Starr's Mill High), Certificate of Appreciation for hosting a Genealogical Workshop.
