Peachtree City native Jaye Bell will play Panacea in the Gordon College production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” The musical comedy got its start on Broadway but is best known as a movie which was released in the ‘60s and starred Zero Mostel. The play hilariously tells the story of the slave Pseudolus who attempts to help his young master, Hero, earn the love of Philia, a young courtesan. Meanwhile, Pseudolus has to outsmart Hero’s parents, the slave-master Lycus, and the large man who has already paid for Philia, Miles Gloriosus. To keep things even more topsy-turvy, there is the old man Erronious who is searching for his lost children who turn out to be…well, you’ll just have to see the play. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” will run April 18-21 at 7:30 p.m. and April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Gordon College Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for those over 65, $5 for children under 12 and $4 each for groups of 10 or more. login to post comments |
