The Fayette CARE Clinic will hold its “Swing into Spring” fund-raiser benefiting the clinic and Fayette County’s medically uninsured at the Glendalough Manor off of Hwy. 74 in Tyrone Friday, April 20. Food, drink, music, dancing and silent and public auction provide the backdrop for an exciting evening.

A 501(c)3 certified non-profit organization, the Fayette CARE Clinic provides free, basic medical and dental care to qualified, medically uninsured Fayette County residents. Medical and dental treatment at Fayette CARE Clinic, which is located just off of Highway 54 West between Fayetteville and Peachtree City, is provided by volunteer physicians, dentists, certified physician assistants, nurses, dental assistants and other health care workers and lay persons.

Reservations for the fund-raiser can be made by calling 770-487-4778.

Beginning May 1st, 2006, the Fayette CARE Clinic began seeing patients one night weekly. In October 2006, the clinic added a half-day schedule to its patient load.

Currently, the clinic sees patients 6-9 p.m. Tuesday evenings and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesdays. Despite this limited schedule, more than 500 patients have been treated by Fayette CARE Clinic since last May; many are repeat patients with chronic illnesses which must be monitored regularly.

Among the most frequent illnesses treated by our medical volunteers are diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and depression, along with respiratory problems. Our dental volunteers regularly treat diseased teeth and gums, providing fillings, root canals, extractions and oral disease care, with the hope of saving the tooth.

Fayette County continues to thrive and prosper, yet many of our residents lack access to even the most basic of health care. Caring medical and dental volunteers are willing to give their time and skills to address this problem, but only the caring of our community will provide the financial support the Fayette CARE Clinic must have to continue its mission; Compassion And Respect for Everyone.

From businesses and residents throughout the county, the Fayette CARE Clinic is seeking donations for inclusion in either the Silent Auction or the Live Auction.

For information, reservations or to make a donation, please contact the Clinic at 770-487-4778 or visit www.fayettecareclinic.com.
