Members of the Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel in Fayetteville are gearing up for their 16th annual yard sale extravaganza, an event which attracts shoppers from as far away as north Georgia. The sale this year is set for this Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, earlier than usual because there is now more room to stock more items.

“This year we will have the entire area that we had used as a worship area before our new church was completed,” explained Donna Arganetto, chairperson of this year’s sale. “We will have a lot more room inside the building so it should really make things much easier for the shoppers.”

Goods will be displayed over nearly 10,000 sq. ft. and some goods which are too large to put into the building will be located near the doors and parking area. The thousands of items will again be categorized much like a department store for easy viewing.

“We will bring back our bag of clothes for $5 deal that was so popular the last few years,” Arganetto said. “We’ll give people a 10-gallon bag and for $5 let them put as many clothes in it as they can.”
The event also will feature a kitchen and bake sale, featuring lunch items such as hot dogs, pizza and chili, along with baked items baked by the women of the parish.

The yard sale will be held Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
A list of items for sale is not available by phone but may be picked up at the church.

St. Gabriel’s is just south of the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 92 South and Antioch Road. For more detailed directions, call 770-461-0492.
