DOT officials announced Friday the southbound outside lane of Interstate 85 in Coweta County will be closed each day from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. from April 16, through April 19, beginning at Mile Post 47 south to Mile Post 45. Also beginning Monday, April 16, through Thursday, April 19, the north bound outside lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. beginning at Mile Post 41 north to Mile Post 42. This closure is due to the widening and lane reconstruction project currently underway. Shoulders are closed in these construction areas, and extreme caution should be observed.
This project is expected to be completed December 31, 2009. During this construction period, motorists can expect shoulder and lane closures on a continuing basis.
