CAP is available for community events

The Newnan-Coweta Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is proud to offer the squadron’s volunteer color guard to the public. This color guard is trained to give a sharp, military style, presentation and retrieval of the colors. If you would like The Civil Air Patrol to present the colors for your church or civic group please call Steven Mellard at 770-251-7210 two weeks before the date you would like the demostration.

The Civil Air Patrol USAF AUX is a all volunteer non-profit organization. CAP was founded in 1941 as a civilian airforce that conducted coast patrol in WWII. Today CAP has three missions. Cadet programs, aerospace education, and emergency services. Cadet programs focuses on training students from ages 12-18 military values, as well as the leadership and management skills for the next generation of the country’s leaders. Aerospace education is a part of the strong curriculum that CAP uses to teach its members about the past, present, and future of aerospace power and technology. CAP saves over a hundred lives every year by performing 95 pecent of the USAF’s seach and rescue operations over mainland America.
