2007 Kiwanis art and talent show winner

Hundreds of Fayette County citizens were treated to a night of outstanding entertainment at Starr's Mill High School recently when children from first through twelfth grades competed in the 22nd annual Art & Talent Showcase sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City.

First place winners include: Grades 1-2 Art: Kristin Mount, home school; Grades 1-2 Talent: Bobby Marcum, home school; Grades 3-6 Art: Kendall Parks, Kedron Elementary; Grades 3-6 Talent: Kevin Kwon, Peachtree City Elementary; Grades 9-12 Art: Michael Vinson, Starr's Mill High School; Grades 9-12 Talent: Emma Stitt, Starr's Mill High School; Grades 1-8 Art (Special Education): Cody Rawlings, Flat Rock Middle School; Grades 9-12 Art (Special Education): Christina Levesque, Whitewater High School; All Grades Art (3-Dimensional): Wesley Smith, Woodward Academy.

Over $4,000 in cash prizes were distributed to the contestants. An additional $1,000 was donated to the Starr's Mill High School Chorus. Accepting the check from Kiwanis president Tom Beckham was Dr. John Odum, Chorus Director.

The winner of the high school division talent show and the winners of each grade level in the art contest will participate in Kiwanis state competition in Atlanta on April 29.
