Helen O. Oliver, 95, Peachtree City, died April 7, 2007. She was born Sept. 6, 1911 in Fayette County, daughter of Thomas J. and Maude Ward Odom. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George P. Oliver. She was a former member of East Point Woman's Club and the East Point Garden Club. She was a Red Cross volunteer for over 25 years and was an original member of the Gray Ladies at South Fulton Hospital, serving for many years. She and her husband were early members of the Holiday Ramblers, a group of travel trailer friends who traveled throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. She was a longtime member of East Point United Methodist Church and attended Jonesboro United Methodist Church. A private service was held at West View Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include children, Bob and Joyce Oliver, Jim and Emelda Oliver, all of Jonesboro, Charlie and Sharon Oliver, Vinings, and Carolyn O. Tolleson, Peachtree City; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James D. and Margie Odom, Tyrone. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
