Benefit set for Moreland childThu, 12/01/2005 - 4:11pm
By: Carolyn Cary
Moreland’s six-year-old Payton Samples is going through his second round with leukemia. He is in the Scottish Rite Hospital this week and is undergoing a blood transfusion, hoping to raise his blood count. If this is successful, he will be starting radiation and chemotherapy again. This will consist of four doses that last three hours, 12 hours apart, every three weeks for the next six months. On Saturday, “Love Thy Neighbor” and the Turin Masonic Lodge F&AM #337 will be serving spaghetti for the benefit of the family. There is no charge for the meal, but donations will be taken. All proceeds will go to Payton’s trust account. Santa Claus will also be on hand. His single mom, Jessica, and sister Alexis, 4, ask you to keep Payton in your prayers. Payton’s mother has had to take a leave of absence from her job to transport him to doctor and hospital appointments. The Turin Masonic Lodge is located on South Hunter Street, and the spaghetti meal will be served from 3-8 p.m. For information, call 502-8914. login to post comments |
