McIntosh stats season with wins at Brenau InvitationalThu, 12/01/2005 - 4:06pm

The McIntosh High School swim team captured first place overall in its opening event this season at the Brenau University High School Invitational. The McIntosh men and women each finished first among seven teams competing in the event.
Junior Nicole Roddenberry and sophomore Keaton Hannon led the women, each capturing two individual firsts and a first in the 400-freestyle relay. Roddenberry won in the 50 and 100 freestyle and Hannon won in the 100 and 200 butterfly. Other members of the winning relay team were Bailey Abercrombie and Rose Tortora. Tortora added two thirds in 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, and Hannah Williams finished third in the 50 freestyle. Top finishers for the McIntosh men were senior Bryan Mitchell with a first in 100 breaststroke and second in the 200 individual medley, and freshman Alex Harmon with a second in the 500 freestyle. Senior Scott Druskat added a third in the 200 freestyle. In relay competition, the women won second in the 200 medley relay with Roddenberry, Hannon, Abercrombie and Tortora, and third in the 200 freestyle relay with Ariane Leblond, Allison Gair, Sarah Trapaga and Grace Robertson. They also took fourth in 400 freestyle with Crystal Weigle, Gair, Becky Atkinson and Dana Plauche. Men’s relay results included third in the 200 freestyle relay with Tyler Cordell, Savinien Leblond, Druskat and Mason Davis and fourth with Austin Cabot, Marcus Burk, Ryan Morton and Brian Forsyth. The Chiefs swept second through fourth in the 400 freestyle relay with three teams: Matt Lee, Harmon, Mitchell and Josh Day, second; Manley, Leblond, Adam Otaki and Cordell, third; and Burk, Druscatt, Davis and Morton, fourth. The team also claimed third in the 200 medley relay with Forsyth, Harmon, Mitchell and Day. “This team has worked hard to prepare for competition, and this was an excellent start to a promising season for the Chiefs,” said Coach Thomas Stockdale. login to post comments |
