The Georgia Department of Transportation and its contractor, McCarthy Improvement, is advising motorists traveling through Coweta County on Interstate 85 north bound that the outside lane from milepost 49.5 to milepost 50.5 will be closed April 7, April 9 and April 10, 2007 with times varying. Two lanes will remain open.
The outside lane will be closed April 7, from 7 a.m through 6 p.m; April 9, from 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. and April 10, from 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m.
This location is north of exit 47, Ga. Highway 34 / Bullsboro Rd. Traffic control devices such as signs, barrels and cones will be used to alert and direct motorists through the work zone. Speed limits have been reduced and will be strictly enforced.
Scheduled work is continuing to replace the existing road surface and construct the widening north from the intersection of Hwy. 34 / Bullsboro Rd. to the Fulton County line on Interstate 85. This project extends 9.705 miles in both north and south bound directions and is expected to be completed October, 2009.
