Sergeant Major Dale D. Ward, 58, Newnan, died March 25, 2007. He was born Sept. 21, 1948 in Stone, Ark. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Williams, stepfather, Dan Williams, a brother, Harold Williams, and mother-in-law, Rose Kendall. He had served in the Vietnam War, and was an assistant to the Sergeant Major of the Army. After 23 years of service he retired as a Sergeant Major. Memorial services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Minister Darrell Gosser officiating.

Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park,Newnan. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kelly Ward, Newnan; daughters, Kerry Ward, Newnan, and Tracy Ward, Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Shirley and J. C.Simons, and Olevia and Cecil Dayberry, all of Mountain View, Ark.; and a sister-in-law, Janet and Richard Thompson, Orlando, Fla. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
