The Citizen Newspapers, The Villages Amphitheater and Coweta-Fayette EMC will present the first-ever kids concert in Fayette County by Imagination Movers. Recently signed to the Disney label, the Imagination Movers are a kid-friendly band on the national music scene and were featured on the Playhouse Disney Channel in 2006. The concert will be held on Saturday, May 12 at The Villages Amphitheater in downtown Fayetteville with gates opening at 5 p.m. The opener, renowned kids magician Ken Scott, will begin at 6 p.m. and showtime will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 children 12 and under and $55 for a family of four.

“Main Street Fayetteville is partnering with Radio Disney, The Citizen and Bruster’s to bring this unique concert to the children of our community,” said Nancy Price, director of Main Street Fayetteville. “We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this energetic group your children love to dance and sing along with on TV.”

The concert also will feature interactive exhibits by local businesses featuring food, fun and more. Currently, The Citizen Newspaper is sponsoring a kids drawing contest. One of the Imagination Mover’s top songs, “I Want My Mommy,” is being used to inspire children to draw a picture of what they like to do with their mommy. The top ten entrants will receive a free family four pack of tickets to the show, an Imagination Movers backpack with goodies and a special meet-and-greet dance party with the Imagination Movers – Rich, Scott, Dave and Smitty. Details of the contest can be found on page C9 of today’s paper.
