Students at East Fayette have turned math skills into cold, hard cash for cancer research.

During the annual St. Jude’s Mathaton, students asked parents and friends for pledges donations based on the number of math problems they completed. Over $2,400 was raised this year to fund children's cancer research at St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.

Fourth grader Rachel Fowler raised the most donations, $457.50.

All students who participated were awarded a certificate. Some students received T-shirts and book bags from St. Jude’s, depending on the amount of donations raised.
