For the sixth year, the beginning of the season of Lent was celebrated jointly by members of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and Coke’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Sharpsburg. This year, however, services were held in the newly dedicated sanctuary at St. Mary Magdalene. Shown above are Father Dan Fleming of St. Mary’s (foreground) and Pastor John Hagen of Coke’s Chapel as they imposed ashes on the foreheads of members of their congregations.
