The new Legacy Theatre in Tyrone, Ga., will play host to the Landmark Christian School spring musical production of “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” this weekend. The public is welcome to attend this lively smash hit musical. Come and tap your toes as seven very talented Landmark students sing, dance, and act their way through all of your favorite songs from the highly acclaimed, award-winning TV series. The tunes from this high energy show sneak in reinforcing educational concepts disguised in very catchy melodies and lyrics. You will find it hard to resist humming along to classic favorites such as “Just a Bill,” “Conjunction Junction,” “Electricity,” and more.

Each member of the cast has experience in numerous past theatre productions, most recently demonstrating their talents in presentations of “The Fantasticks,” “Oliver!,” “The Wiz,” “Seussical the Musical,” and in last month’s world premier of Disney’s stage play “High School Musical” at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Senior cast members Mallory Tarter and Katie Parker plan to major in musical theatre in college this fall, after wrapping up their pre-college theatre experience by performing in the Legacy Theatre’s own professional summer performance of the Disney phenomenon “High School Musical.” Other “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” cast members include senior Thomas Ryden, juniors Holly Summey and Levi Throckmorton, sophomore Janie Parker, and freshman Patrick Dyer.

Landmark will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” at the Legacy Theatre in Tyrone on Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee showing will also be offered at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. All ages will enjoy the show, but seating is limited so make plans to come early. Tickets are $10 general admission and are only available at the door. The Legacy Theatre is located at 1175 Senoia Road, Tyrone, Ga. Directions are available at www.thelegacytheatre.org.
