James H. Barnes, 84,Canton, formerly of Fairburn, died March 8,2007. He was born Aug. 15, 1922 in Fulton County. Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Doug Mulkey officiating. Interment was at Providence Baptist Church cemetery, Palmetto. Survivors include his wife, Marie Sewell Barnes, Canton; a son, James and Virginia Turner, Palmetto; daughters, Carol and Lem Doxey, Canton, Peggy and Charles Derden, Newnan, Janice and Oscar Rash, Conyers, and Patti and Rickey Crosby, Canton; a stepson, Joe and Gloria Sewell Jr., White, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Joyce and Bill Rawlings, Acworth; one brother; five sisters; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6402 Campbellton Redwine Rd., Palmetto, GA 30268.
