Larry Philip Rumpf, 62, Fayetteville, died March 11, 2007. He was born April 15, 1944 in Darby, Pa. and lived most of his life in Mobile, Ala. He was preceded in death by his father. A. J. Rumpf, and a son, Brian A. Rumpf. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and an M.B.A. in business administration from the University of Montana. He served in the United States Air Force as a missile launch officer. He was an office manager for Metezers and credit manger for Government Street Lumber in Mobile. He also worked as a regional credit manager for Hertz Equipment Rental in Mobile and Nashville, Tenn., a national credit manger for RSC and a regional credit manager for United Rentals in Georgia, as well as a loan officer for American Discount Mortgage. A memorial service was at the Carmichael-Hemperley chapel. Survivors include his wife, Ola Faye Yates-Rumpf; mother, Geraldine Rumpf; a brother, Michael Rumpf; a sister, Gail Culpepper; nephews, Chuck Culpepper, and Eric Culpepper; and a niece, Gilliam Rumpf. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, Pancreatic Cancer Research, 135 Bradford Square, Ste. B, Fayetteville, GA 30215.
