Stephen "Ralph" Walters, 93,Fayetteville, formerly of Richmond, Va., died March 2, 2007. He was born Dec. 18,1913 in Ansonville, N. C. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lown Scherer Walters, Jan. 1, 2007. He was retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad with 38 years of service. He was a founding member of the Village Presbyterian Church, serving numerous roles including deacon and elder. He was a lifetime member of the Masons. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. A celebration of life will be this Friday, March 16, at 2 p.m. at Dogwood Forest, Fayetteville. Survivors include a son, S. Frank Walters, Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Barbara W. Toth, Fayetteville; a stepson, Roy B. Scherer, Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Trevor Toth, and Tori Toth, Fayetteville; and a brother, Robert Walters, Durham N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the Village Presbyterian Church, 110 N. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23223 or Meals On Wheels of Central Virginia, 1600 Willow Lawn Dr., Richmond, VA 23230.
