Sharpsburg’s Christ the King announces plans for Holy Week

Holy Week services and activities have been announced for Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg.

Palm Sunday, April 1, will be celebrated with the traditional procession of the palms. Father David Epps will preach in both the 8 and 10 a.m. services.
On Tuesday, April 3, a Stations of the Cross service will be observed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Deacon Jason Epps bringing the message.

On Wednesday, at 7 p.m. a Tenebrae service will be observed with scripture readings, lighting and extinguishing of candles, and a message by The Rev. Deacon Daniel Ahart.

Maundy Thursday will be celebrated the following evening at 7 p.m. with the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist, a message by Father Dan Hale, and the dramatic “stripping of the altar.”

The church will participate in the Peachtree City Community Good Friday Services at noon.

On Saturday, April 7, the church will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt for the children of the church.

Epps will preach at services on Easter Sunday.

Christ the King is on Ga. Hwy. 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan.
