Mr. and Mrs. James Raymond Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Roger Wiedmeyer of Vestavia Hills, Ala. announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Nichole, to James Elliot Walls, son of Lt. Col. ( Ret.) and Mrs. William Gregory Walls of Tyrone.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patrick Gattas Jr. of Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. Ann Serpa Wiedmeyer and the late Mr. Earl Paul Wiedmeyer of Sun City Center, Fla. She is a 1997 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School and a cum laude graduate of Auburn University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She currently is employed with Google, Inc. in New York City.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Max Walls and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edwin Chancey, both of Enterprise, Ala. He is a 1995 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City. He was graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and will complete his master’s in business administration from Fordham University in December 2007. He is employed with Morgan Stanley in New York City.

An April wedding is planned in Rosemary Beach, Fla.
