Construction projects will affect auto and cart path traffic in coming weeks.

Peachtree City has issued the following traffic alert for construction projects:

The city of Peachtree City has issued traffic advisories associated with several projects that will be underway in the coming weeks.

The first is the landscaping of MacDuff Parkway, which is set to begin on Monday, March 19.

Landscape crews will be installing plant material in the median of the roadway for the next several weeks, and drivers should use extreme caution to avoid any accidents with the installation crew.

The MacDuff landscaping project should be completed in mid-May.

On Monday, March 26, Hip Pocket Road will be closed to through traffic near Loblolly Court for a stormwater project.

The city will be replacing the existing drainage culvert under the road with a larger one to control upstream flooding.

The project should be completed and the road reopened to through traffic by April 15, weather permitting.

A second stormwater project will close the path path traffic near Whitlock Place commercial park and the Fairfield neighborhood.

The city will be building a large detention pond off West Manor and Park Place to help control downstream flooding.

Although the street will not be closed, the multi-use path that extends up Park Place will be blocked to golf cart and bicycle traffic.

This project will begin next week with tree clearing.
