Three Tsunami volleyball teams traveled to Orlando for the President’s Day Tournament. The 16 Black, 17 Black, and 18 Black all took the tournament by storm with three solid first place finishes in the Power tournament.

16 Black and 18 Black finished first in pool play on Saturday and Sunday to put them in the Gold bracket. 17 Black finished second in pool play Saturday after a loss to Middleburg 17-1 but came back to finish first on Sunday to advance to the Gold.

16 Black dominated the competition by going 16-0, winning by an average of 10 points. The final match against Atlanta Boom 16-1 was no different. Aggressive serving and tenacious defense was too much for them to handle.
This was a great first tournament win for 16 Black as the team showed how strong they really are.

17 Black got another chance at Middleburg in the semi-finals, taking care of them in two games. In the finals they faced OVA (17-2). After a first game loss, 17 Black came back to take the second game quickly and closed out the final game 15-13.

Despite two players starting out the day with a stomach virus, 18 Black was victorious. Falling to Central Florida in the first game of the finals, 18 Black came back in the second from being down 22-23 and won 28-26.

In the third game the girls’ incredible defense and determination led them to their first tournament win.
