The Peachtree City Library and the city’s developmental services division will remain closed early Monday due to electrical work being performed in the City Hall complex, officials said.

Neither facility will open until at least 11 a.m. and perhaps later because crews must turn off power to the City Hall and Library to replace heating and air conditioning equipment at City Hall, officials said.

The city’s building permits office will be moved temporarily upstairs where the city will have limited electrical service via generators. That will allow citizens and contractors to continue applying for and working on various permits, officials said.

The library decided to close because they will be unable to circulate material or operate lights and computers.

“We apologize for having to close on such short notice,” said library administrator Jill Prouty.

To find out if the facility has re-opened, library patrons are encouraged to call the library at 770-631-2520 or to visit the city’s web site at www.peachtree-city.org.
