Peachtree City Rotary hosted teacher and speaker Ron Clark at their February 22 meeting. Clark, who was chosen as Disney's American Teacher Of The Year in 2000 for his work in rural North Carlina and inner city Harlem, New York, spoke to a crowded room of Rotarians and guests. In addition to working with children in the classroom, Clark is the New York Times Best Selling author for his book, "The Essential 55." His book focuses on the 55 rules which he uses as a teaching tool for his students. In August 2006 TNT released “The Ron Clark Story,” a Johnson & Johnson Spotlight Presentation depicting his work in Harlem. In the fall of 2007 he will open the Ron Clark Academy in Southeast Atlanta. login to post comments |
