By: The Citizen
The Peachtree City Chapter, Order of DeMolay, sponsored by East Point Lodge #288, F. & A.M., held its second installation of officers on Saturday, March 3 at 5 p.m. at the Peachtree City Masonic Center, 201 Whitlock Place, Peachtree City. A reception and dance followed the public ceremony. DeMolay, an international organization for young men age 12 (and who have completed the seventh grade) to 21, utilizes local chapters as a “laboratory” setting for members to learn leadership skills, public speaking, time management and financial management. In addition to these skills, DeMolay offers an expansive social and athletic program. DeMolay chapters also work to become community assets through programs of community service. Each year, thousands of community service projects are undertaken by DeMolay chapters throughout the world. Over 30,000 young men in the United States actively participate in DeMolay chapters today and well over one million men have benefited from the DeMolay experience since it was founded in 1919. Famous Senior DeMolays include: President Clinton, Walt Disney, Gary Collins, John Wayne, Walter Cronkite, Fran Tarkenton, astronauts, U.S. senators, governors, business leaders and successful community minded citizens. Interested young men and their parents are encouraged to learn more about DeMolay.
