The Whitewater Wildcats varsity baseball team (4-2) picked up two wins over the weekend, beating Dutchtown 11-9 on Friday and Warner Robins 12-8 on Saturday.

Against Dutchtown, the Wildcats had 11 hits with Miles Head, Heine Rivera and Travis Dingler each getting two a piece. Rivera drove in three runs and Dingler had a career-high 5 RBIs. Greg Fisher picked up the win and Nick Nieves got the save. “We made way too many errors tonight but still found a way to pick up a win,” said Coach Frank Dixon.

On Saturday, Whitewater built a 7-3 lead in the fourth inning but the bullpen gave up some runs. Warner Robins tied the game at 8-8 in the seventh inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Whitewater intentionally walked the bases loaded with one out and got a much needed double play. Whitewater scored four runs in the top of the ninth, three of which came from a home run from Justin Carpenter. Nieves got the win and Kevin Lewallen got the save. Lewallen also had two hits in the game, as did a number of others, including Head, Carpenter and Dingler.

The Wildcats host Dutchtown today at 5:30 p.m. They will play at East Coweta on Friday and will host Warner Robins on Saturday at 1 p.m.
