Landmark Christian's Lady War Eagles, known to their fans as the "Brickhouse Belles," are proving they can play just as well outside of the Brickhouse.

Facing Bremen in the second round of the Class A state playoffs at Georgia Highlands College, Landmark overcame an early deficit to win 61-35. The Lady War Eagles were behind Bremen until the second quarter when their defense picked up and the offense started to make big shots. Christian Hunnicutt led the team with 20 points but Deondria Terrell's three pointers paved the way for Landmark's eventual domination.

Landmark will take on Hebron Christian at 4 p.m. tomorrow. Hebron Christian upset Bowdon, the second ranked team in Class A, 67-64, on Thursday. Landmark (28-2) is ranked number one.

Sandy Creek's Lady Patriots led Hart County for 31:52 on Thursday, but the Lady Bulldogs pulled ahead at the very end and hung on for the win. A timeout that appeared to have been called late in the fourth quarter by Sandy Creek coach Leslie Cooper wasn't granted and Hart County was given the ball, leading them to take the lead. Lynsey Paschal led Sandy Creek (22-6) with 12 points.
