DOT warns of intersection signal problems ahead in PTCTue, 02/27/2007 - 5:36pm
By: John Munford
Progress inevitably requires patience. And that’s just what the Georgia Department of Transportation is asking for from Peachtree City drivers as the construction project continues to widen the first leg of Ga. Highway 74 South. The patience will be necessary because the project is interrupting the timing of traffic lights for side streets entering Ga. Highway 74, causing delays, said spokesman Barry Hancock. Some signals have already been adjusted and DOT will continue to address each problem as it happens, Hancock noted. “All problems will be addressed and we appreciate your cooperation and patience as this much needed project progresses,” Hancock said. The project extends on Hwy. 74 from Ga. Highway 54 southward to Cooper Circle; once complete the DOT will begin working on widening Hwy. 74 from Cooper Circle south to Ga. Highway 85. Hancock urged motorists to pay special attention when driving through construction zones as a safety precaution. login to post comments |
