Annual bridal show set for March 4

Spring is just around the corner and with it comes the season of new beginnings. Flora and fauna burst to life around us, and people head outdoors to enjoy the warming temperatures. Spring also brings another season around: wedding season. Blushing brides and mothers-in-law-to-be will begin the final stretch into preparations for summer nuptials and newly engaged couples will begin the journey of planning for the big day.

Next weekend, residents in the wedding-planning process, whether just getting started or counting down the days, will be attending the Southern Charm Bridal Network’s ninth annual bridal show.

On Sunday, March 4, SCBN’s annual bridal extravaganza will take over the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center from 2 to 5 p.m.

The event, which was first held in 2002, will give future brides the opportunity to visit with 36 vendors who will have their products and/or services on display at the event. Future brides and grooms will be able to browse the vendors’ products and services as well as make purchases and bookings. Brides who arrive early can participate in the pre-show workshop, "Wedding Planning with the Planners" from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. The workshop will teach brides about "The things to do, to say I do" in a Q&A format with three wedding planners who are also registered vendors with SCBN.

In 1998, a group of vendors met to share leads and contacts for brides and anyone planning a special event. The group eventually evolved into what is known today as the Southern Charm Bridal Network.

The Southern Charm Bridal Network is an association of wedding professionals serving the south Atlanta area, including Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Henry, and Spalding counties. Southern Charm is synonymous with caring, creativity, and commitment, creating synergy to serve your special event. The mission of the Southern Charm Bridal Network is "to provide bridal and special event services in the form of quality professionalism in all aspects associated with creating a special day that is forever memorable to our clients."

A list of vendors and more information may be found online at www.SouthernCharmBridal.net. Membership is by invitation only and the network’s leadership attributes the success of the group to the individual dependability of the vendors involved.

Admission to the bridal show is $5 and drawings for door prizes will be held throughout the day. The first 100 people to register for the pre-show workshop will receive a free gift. Future brides will also have the opportunity to register for a chance to win a free honeymoon trip, the drawing for which will be held at 4:45 p.m. You must be present to win both the door prizes and the grand prize.

Visit the show Sunday, March 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, 2443 Ga. Highway 54 W, Peachtree City, Ga. The show is open to the public. A copy of the event program is available at Men’s Wearhouse.
