If you are looking for a fun, more modern avenue of physical activity, then sign-up for traditional pilates classes at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts.

Joining GAD & the Performing Arts as the pilates program coordinator is Mary Ann Briggs. Briggs has an extensive background in Authentic Pilates Method with over 400 hours of teaching and observing clients and certified Authentic Pilates instructors. GAD & the Performing Arts is offering mat classes, private apparatus sessions, and duet mat classes under Briggs’ instruction. They are also encouraging clients to “create your own group mat class”- invite your friends, get a group together from work, and enjoy exercising together. Current mat classes are offered at GAD & the Performing Arts at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and all levels are welcomed.

Mary Ann completed her systems training with the Authentic Pilates Program on the East Coast and is excited to bring the Authentic Method to Peachtree City and neighboring communities. The movements require no impact on joints allowing customized programs for the elite athlete to those in need of physical rehab. Pilates has been known to improve performance in other sports such as golf, tennis, skating, dance, gymnastics, and equestrian. For more information on traditional pilates classes, please call 770-631-3128 or visit their website at www.gadance.com.
