Marion G. "Jack" Cowan, 92, Lt. Col., United States Air Force, retired, Fayetteville, died Feb. 2, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Katherine, whom he had met in Bakersfield, Calif. He had lived in San Antonio and Fort Worth and attended Texas A&M before entering the Army Air Corps pilot training. He was graduated in Class 41G at Ontario, Calif. During World War II he was an instructor pilot for hundreds of students. He completed his bachelors degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He retired from the Air Force with 27 years of service as a pilot, meteorologist, and inspector. He had over 5,900 hours of flying time including 154 in single engine jets. He and his wife had lived in Virginia and Maryland until moving to Fayetteville in 2002. Survivors include a son, Roger; daughters, Suzanne and Linda; grandchildren, David, Vicki, Joel, Tim, Kenda, and Matthew; a nephew Harold; nieces, Ann, Joan, and Jane. Metro Crematory, Peachtree City, was in charge. login to post comments |
